If the garage door won’t open or close, it is likely that its opener needs to be repaired. Before it can be done, the problem needs to be understood. After the emergency cord is released and the door can be manually handled, one can see whether the tracks, rollers and springs are working fine. If the door moves as normal then the opener is the problem. Moving on, everything needs to be looked at step by step: the remote, the receiver, sensors, power to the outlet etc. Once every single one of them has been checked, the answer will probably be on the table.

If it has been identified, the specialists can usually solve the problem easily. Either the problematic part is replaced, or in rare cases fixed, so that it works as intended. As in most cases it involves replacing or repairing electric parts, it is better not to take it on as a DIY project. Turn to a specialist instead.
